School Health Assessment Tool
The School Health Assessment Tool is designed to assist targeted school districts statewide with a research-based protocol that will assist in assessing physical, mental and emotional health conditions, as well as social/environmental factors that contribute to increased student absenteeism and decreased academic performance. In the long-term, with information gleaned from school districts statewide, we hope to develop a statewide database that will assist in the development of intervention strategies to minimize and/or eliminate the identified health barriers in the targeted districts.
Following the completion of the assessment tool, we will supply school districts with resources and nursing interventions specific to the health condition that impacts their school the most and promote increased class time for students.
